Sydney Day 4: 30 June 2015 (Birkenhead Point and Sydney Fish Market)

Another lazy morning and simple room made breakfast consisting of local fresh eggs and instant noodles, it was straight to the 2nd outlet spot: Birkenhead Point.  This complex has over 120 stores with a great view overlooking the waters.

bright and airy

The Birkenhead Point outlet mall has a wonderful and relaxing vibe, with showers of natural lights and natural circulation.  Birkenhead Point seemed more suitable for me than DFO, as I purchased a pair of sneakers, 2 tops  and some groceries.

The next stop was the world famous, and 2nd largest, Sydney Fish Market.  First store was the oyster shack where 2 dozen of the clams were devoured.  Next was purchase of kingfish and large scampi.  These were accompanied by grilled abalone, seafood kabab and chips.  The cool Sea breeze and warm sun rays transpired the Harbourside dining area.  But my heart was more worried about the many seagulls flapping around.

me and my 1 dozen oysters!!!

my lunch

After a quick seafood shopping (for dinner), it was heading back to hotel to drop off the shopping, and off to Circular Quay.  From here, it's a ferry's ride to the beautiful Watsons Bay.

magnificent Sydney Habour

It was a nice and calming walk by the magnificent cliffs and the great expanse of the Pacific Ocean.

As the last ferry has left, it was an hour's bus ride back to the apartment.  Then it was a furry of cooking the purchases from the Fish Market: lobster main plus prawn stew with broccoli.  All cooked with local garlic infused olive oil.  This was wrongly paired with Henry's Seven, but I just had to try it!  The Shiraz was nice and tangy but not too sharp, with easy going fruity flavours. I was however unable to finish the bottle before the end of this trip :(
