Melbourne Day 3: 21 November 2016

It was a lazy morning wake up.  Edward brought me to sample the famous lobster burger down at Hardware Societe.  The black bun was so soft and it was stuffed with chunks of lobster meat and slices of lime marinated cucumbers.  2 poached eggs sat nicely atop to provide for a very hearty breakfast!  Well, more like brunch I would say.

It was followed by a walking tour by Edward to Brouke Street Mall where shopping centers abound with Christmas decorations.  We went into David Jones for a while and I got a Christmas bauble present for a friend.

We were met up by Yufei shortly and continued with our walking tour of Melbourne city.  We went into the State Library of Victoria, which was massive and built in colonial style, much like the buildings we see in Singapore.  But this was not the typical library.  It was filled with students studying for their up-coming exams.  It was also adorned with beautiful oil paintings from the past, so much so it was a museum by itself!

We hopped by Chinatown to take a snapshot of the Gate, and onto Melbourne Central Shopping Mall with the famous conical glass tower where Jackie Chan glided down from many many years ago in one of his earlier movies.

We ended the day with a drink at the Mint Bar and Restaurant near the Hellenic museum before hugging goodbyes at the Southern Cross station where Edward too the bus for his flight back to Sydney and Yufei took the train back home.

For me, I went for dinner and had to try the local KFC.  It wasn't memorable and a tad too salty for me.  Well, I had to walk it off afterwards with a late night shopping fiasco at Target, which happened to open till midnight!
